Welcome to Green Indy Blog – the audio version! This is a semi-regular zero waste podcast/audio dive into some of my more complex posts so we can dive deeper and let you avoid reading my novel-length posts unless you really want to! This is Episode #2: Planned Obsolescence and Right to Repair.

The TL;DR: Companies engage in a targets campaign of planned obsolescence, ie. they make sure the products we buy will quickly become out-of-date, break, or unfixable so we’re forced to repurchase. By voiding warranties if you try to repair items yourself, companies are keeping us in a consumption cycle.
