READY TO KICKSTART YOUR ZERO WASTE JOURNEY?

Zero Waste 101: 5 Weeks to a Confident Zero Waste Life is launching February 1st!

Zero Waste 101 is a 5-week email course to help you set zero waste intentions and look critically at the five areas people typically identify as 'trouble spots' in their zero waste efforts: staying motivated after the initial high, zero waste grocery shopping, how to find the right composting option, zero waste and your loved ones, and finding a zero waste community.

Find your motivation, learn easy hacks to drastically reduce your waste, and create simple action plans to influence the people around you.

Best of all, the proceeds of this course are going back into my local community by covering fees for future zero waste workshops.

WEEK ONE: CREATING A PLAN OF ATTACK

While it can be exciting to dive right into a zero waste life, attacking such a huge goal without organization is a sure-fire way to get discouraged quickly. Start out the first week of the course by getting your zero waste ducks in a row, so to speak. You'll get an editable PDF workbook to record your answers to refer back to.

We'll cover:

1. What zero waste is (and isn't).

2. How to get over "imposter syndrome" and your confidence problem.

3. What motivates you to go zero waste and ways to use that motivation to keep you on track

4. Identifying several tangible problems or barriers to your zero waste success and ways to find simple, concrete solutions.

WEEK TWO: SHOPPING A LA ZERO WASTE

If I polled 100 people, I can guarantee at least 97 of them would say their kitchen/grocery shopping creates the most waste. From food waste to packaging to water waste, the kitchen is a minefield of potential trash. We'll start simple and ramp up to more complex ideas, so there will be something for everyone.

We'll cover:

1. The ins and outs of how to bulk shop with your own containers.

2. Making exceptions: the magic of creating a non-negotiables list.

3. Creating a list of bulk shopping options near you.

4. A simple meal plan that can be gotten zero or low-waste almost anywhere!

WEEK THREE: ROTTING YOUR WASTE

It may not seem like a big deal to send organic matter to the landfill. It'll just decompose, right? WRONG! The issue with sending organic matter to the landfill is that, in fact, because everything’s so tightly packed nothing actually decomposes. Because there’s no room for oxygen to circulate, that organic matter just releases methane right up into the atmosphere. Compost can seem overwhelming, but the fact is it's a very simple process that everyone can use effectively. Whether you live in a tiny apartment or have space in your backyard, we'll work together to create a simple composting option.

We'll cover:

1. A quiz to identify the composting option that best fits your space.

2. The ins and outs of what to include (and not include!) in your compost pile.

3. WTF to do with your compost after you've made it.

5 WEEKS OF ZERO WASTE MOTIVATION. ENDLESS OPPORTUNITY. $25.

WEEK FOUR: ENCOURAGING YOUR LOVED ONES

One of the biggest issues I hear for people going zero waste is that their loved ones are not interested in going zero waste. Unfortunately, we can't force our loved ones to conform to our lofty goals, but there are ways to help them transition without the use of force! This section will also include a workbook to help you create a tangible action plan.

We'll cover:

1. Dealing with adult family members versus children.

2. How to identify what motivates your loved ones and how to use that to your advantage.

3. Sneaky bargaining tools to get your spouse and kids closer to zero waste.

WEEK FIVE: CREATING A COMMUNITY

This is a bonus week for those looking to take their zero waste actions beyond their house and into the community. If you're keen to meet up with fellow zero waste folks in real life and find your tribe, this is the week for you. Zero waste is a movement - spread it beyond just your house!

We'll cover:

1. How to create an online presence to attract local zero waste curious.

2. A simple action plan to create an active Facebook group.

3. imple workshop ideas to involve the community.

That's it! Five simple, actionable emails to get your zero waste journey started with style and confidence. Have questions? Just want to chat about it? Send me an email and I'll be happy to discuss anything that's on your mind!
